Kah Anejo Tequila

Rich old gold color. Aromas of carrot cake, chocolate chestnut toffee, pepper, sandalwood and apple-pineapple chutney with a silky, dry-yet-fruity medium-to-full body and a gentle, creme brulee and warming brown spice driven finish. A nice tequila to pair with desserts.

KAH Anejo Tequila

KAH Tequila Añejo contains aromas of coffee, chocolate and tobacco masterfully created during its two year aging time in American white oak casks.

The KAH Tequila Añejo bottle is designed with black and white motifs to represent the practices of Nicaraguans who take « rest in peace » to a whole new level. While they perform similar traditions to other Latin American counterparts (IE. decorate graves, bring food to alters to honor the dead), they also often sleep at the grave-sites of their deceased. The idea is that by sleeping with the dead, Nicaraguans reinforce the emotional connection they hold with those loved ones that have passed.

USDA-OrganicKAH Tequila was designed to pay reverence and honor to Mexico and its people. Its bottle and spirit are reflective of Day of the Dead, the 3,000 year-old Meso-American ritual honoring deceased loved ones. KAH’s unique packaging, in turn, is inspired by traditional Calaveras used in Dia de los Muertos rituals to symbolize death and rebirth. The word KAH translates to « life » in the ancient Mayan language. Every bottle is an individual, hand-crafted work of art, not two bottles are the same. While the bottle captures that enduring spirit, so does the Tequila inside, as KAH’s distillers transform hand-selected 100% Blue agave into lively Blanco, Reposado and Añejo varieties that are both certified organic and Kosher.

Notes de dégustation

Aroma: Agave and vanilla come through nicely. Maybe a bit of fruit like banana or pear.
Initial Taste: Nice agave sweetness with a fruity compliment.
Body: Medium. The spicy notes come in and start to compliment the agave flavors. The mellowing of the wood makes it really smooth and a nice sipper.
Finish: A nice spicy burn (not alcohol burn) that lingers for a long time on the tongue. A very nice finish to a very nice tequila.

« A good tequila and great presentation at a premium price.  » (tequilatourist.com)

« Spends two years in American oak. Big caramel and vanilla notes on the nose, typical of a well-aged, quality anejo. The body sticks close to the formula, keeping the sweetness heavy and layering on a bit of milk chocolate as the finish starts to roll over you. Agave is largely absent here… only a residual slug of herbs on the nose proves that you’re not drinking rum. Still, all in all it’s a solid dessert-like experience.  » Rating A – (drinkhacker.com)
